I humble myself before the inventor of the folding luggage cart. One day, after forgetting how to properly walk down the stairs, I apparently tried to take three steps at once and tumbled, twisting my back. I had to be on the plane the next day, naturally, to make an important presentation. My folding luggage cart came to my rescue. My wife more or less just teased me for being a klutz. So it goes.
Just like us, our luggage tends to bulge and gain weight. When it does, those great looking bags can get to be a pain in the neck or, at least, just rather difficult to lug around. Both models will be sturdy and reliable; both are heavy to tote. Therefore, they might be best only for those who often must lug substantial loads.

To my way of thinking, the most universally sound folding luggage cart choice for the average traveler is the Luggage Cart from Travelite. The Travelite option is lightweight and designed exceptionally well. Constructed from plastic and aluminum, it glides effortlessly on substantial (3 inch) rubber wheels. She can bear up to 80lbs (36kg). Here’s the kicker: she only weighs 2.5lbs, or 1.1kg! Perhaps best of all, it flattens out to a compact 16.5 × 10.75 × 3.24 inches (that’s 41.9 × 27.3 × 8.3cm for those of you counting from homes in which the metric system is understood). The Travelite probably won’t prove as durable as the other choices above; then again, its cost is lower, so to replace your folding luggage cart down the tarmac won’t be costly or bother you much.

A word of advice: be sure you don’t fritter funds on a junky, cheap folding luggage cart like they sell at the kiosks and airport shops. A folding luggage cart like this is usually manufactured poorly, using inexpensive materials. It is not built to last. Experience shows it will bend, snap, buckle, its handles will crack, and its wheels feel square after just a few uses. Steer clear.
Remember, too, that your folding luggage cart will often need to be stowed under the seat in front of you, so if you have another item to stow there, or long legs, make sure it’s compact and collapses flat.
